Welcome to Grafton's Spoonville

The Grafton Regional Gallery front garden and verandah has come alive with people, birds and animals during Porch Placemaking Week 2021.

The community of Grafton are encouraged to make a person or animal from a wooden spoon to populate the local 'Spoonville' or make a bird, person or animal from a toilet roll to decorate the trees.

The project is taking place during the New South Wales school holidays. Families are encouraged to collect craft materials from the gallery, along with materials from around the house including toilet rolls and wooden spoons.

This is a wonderful example of connecting without contact as many areas continue to deal with the ongoing impacts of the pandemic and continuing life in lockdown.

We look forward to sharing project updates as the gallery garden is transformed into Grafton's latest suburb.
